Well it�s the first year in many that I will not be enjoying two Thanksgiving days back to back. Tradition is that I do my freak show family on Thursday and then head off to the Kitten�s for a normal holiday with the normal people I lovingly call my surrogate family. I�m convinced the only reason I turned out somewhat sane is due to my relationship with the kitten and her family. Otherwise I�d be a younger version of my mother and well no one wants to claim that as a persona, trust me.
Speaking of my mother she arrived last night at 10:40pm. Apparently she got confused and thought her flight left Seattle at 4:40pm. The confusion would be in the fact that was the scheduled arrival time in Phoenix. So, the nice people at South-worst put her on the next available flight arriving at 10:40pm. I was also informed upon her arrival that she might just want to invite a few close friends for Thanksgiving dinner. Great we discussed headcount a few weeks ago and I was informed by her that she wouldn�t be inviting anyone to dinner. So based on that information I purchased a nice sized turkey for the existing headcount, which has now doubled and I�m going to be fighting for a ham or another turkey at the store after work tonight.
I have also been informed that her health is failing and she most recently had a problem that warranted going to the hospital emergency room. A normal rational sane person would have taken the condition she was in and either called 911 or a neighbor to take them to the hospital. Not my mother, self diagnosis is a better option and waiting 6 days to be seen by a specialist in another town 45min away is the right choice. She did however get a friend to drive her since she was so weak from her condition. Amazing the amount of information that can be downloaded in a 30min drive from the airport to my house at 11:30pm.
Positive research has reveled that the rehab center in my area is open 7 days a week, still no specials posted for after the first of the year. Considering my mother will be in AZ. Till the first of the year I thought this research was prudent.
